nivells KET, PET i FCE.
1) Where are you from?
I’m from a town called Linlithgow which is
close to Edinburgh in Scotland. It’s more or less the same size as Sant Celoni.
2) What did you do before becoming an English
teacher?
I was a dietitian and worked in a hospital in England. I specialised in paediatric dietetics and also the elderly. The two extremes!

3) What brought you here?
Love! I met my husband in Scotland back in 2000 working in a hotel called The Royal Scot. After 5 years of going back and forward between Scotland and Catalonia I finally moved here for a gap year and never left!

4) What is it like living/working here?
When you first move to a different country everything is new and strange, the food, the people, the culture. But having lived here for 13 years, Catalonia has become my home. Tomato spread on bread has become my new butter and speaking Catalan and Spanish as well as English is now second nature.

5) What do you do in your free time? Free time? What free time?
Between my work and family it’s difficult to find time for myself. I play the flute in a Big Band in Sant Celoni once a week and go swimming every Friday. I also love reading and have recently started going to a book club with likeminded woman and I’m really enjoying it.
